Back Pain

Sore back? We can get you back in shape

The most common problem that Chiropractors treat is back pain. This can vary from upper to lower pain with the latter being the most problematic. Typically, patients look for relief from back pain due to accidents, sports injuries and other various muscle stresses. Back pain may be related to other annoyances throughout the body such as arms, legs and headaches.

Our Chiropractor will use hands-on spinal adjustments and other remedies to assist with the alignment of your musculoskeletal structure, more specifically in the spine. This will allow the body to heal correctly without surgical treatment or medication.

The adjustments are performed in order to restore mobility to the joints that have been restricted by injury such as incorrect posture, falling or another traumatic event. Chiropractic treatment should also be effective for dealing with muscles, joints, bones, cartilage and tendons.

What can a Chiropractor do?

Our Chiropractors can administer the hands-on treatment to get your back feeling better. Initially a health history will be taken, and a medical examination will be conducted. This will determine whether or not the methods the Chiropractor has in mind will suit what your body needs. As part of your therapy plan, we will incorporate dietary therapy and exercise methods to help you get back on track. The treatment will also include adjustments of your joints and body in order to assist with the primary goal of restoring movement and functionality.

Chiropractic care and spinal treatment has been shown to be effective therapy for lower back pain, however it is not 100% effective on its own. Being able to utilise preventative techniques such as simply staying active are great ways to look after not only your back but your entire body, ensuring your range of motion and mobility doesn’t degenerate.

The success of treatments will depend on the individual and the techniques being used by our chiropractors. Success is also linked to how long the patient has experienced the symptoms, the amount of degeneration occurring in the patient and on what type of pain the patient is experiencing.
